Attribution: Tag Manager Pixel Placement Instructions

This guide walks you through the steps to properly place your pixel, along with best practices and optional advanced tracking parameters.

Our  Attribution & Reporting solution is built to offer advertisers deeper insights and always-on visibility into campaign performance. To take advantage of this, you’ll need to implement the our pixel on your website using your preferred Tag Manager system, such as Google Tag Manager (GTM).

This guide walks you through the steps to properly place the pixel, along with best practices and optional advanced tracking parameters.

      • Use “Click Event” or “Form Submission” to track specific actions.
  4. Test Your Setup
    • Use Preview Mode in GTM to ensure the tag fires correctly.
    • Navigate through your site to confirm the pixel is triggering on the appropriate pages or events.

Best Practices for Pixel Placement

  • Avoid Duplicates:
Do not install the same pixel more than once on the same event (e.g., on every button click and page load) — this can skew attribution data.
  • Track Visits Accurately:
For upper-funnel attribution such as visits or landings, fire the pixel on all pages to ensure no entry points are missed.
  • Verify Events:
Use GTM’s Preview and Debug Mode to test your implementation before going live.

Advanced Tracking (Optional)

To get more granular insights, you can enrich your attribution data by passing dynamic values through the pixel using our optional parameters.

Key Values You Can Pass:

Syntax Tip:
To pass multiple values for a single key, use a comma-separated list, e.g.:
product_id_123,product_id_456

Dynamic Value Replacement

Replace placeholder macros in the pixel (e.g., [ORDER_ID], [REVENUE]) with dynamic variables from your website. These can often be accessed via GTM’s Data Layer Variables or custom JavaScript.
