Site-Served (1st Party) Video Assets
When you upload a video asset directly to Storefront, our ad server automatically transcodes the source file into the formats needed for delivery across publishers and devices.
For the best quality and compatibility, we recommend uploading a high-quality source file that meets the specifications below.
Ad Length
Video ads should be 30 seconds or less, including standard :15 and :30 spots.
Longer formats, such as :60, may be supported upon request. Contact Support for assistance.
File Type & Video Codec
Accepted file types:
.mp4
Recommended video codecs:
H.264
Apple ProRes 422 HQ
High-quality source files are recommended since we transcode the uploaded asset for delivery.
Resolution & Aspect Ratio
16:9 is the preferred aspect ratio for CTV.
Recommended resolutions:
1920 × 1080 — 16:9, preferred
1280 × 720 — 16:9
1440 × 1080 — 4:3
Do not include burned-in letterboxing or pillarboxing (black bars) within the video.
Bitrate
For high-quality source files, we recommend:
15–30 Mbps for Constant Bitrate (CBR)
Up to 50 Mbps for Variable Bitrate (VBR)
Higher-bitrate mezzanine files, such as Apple ProRes, may also be used as high-quality source assets.
Frame Rate
Supported frame rates include:
23.98 fps
25 fps
29.97 fps
Use a constant, native frame rate whenever possible. Video should use progressive scan and should not contain interlaced or blended frames.
Before You Upload
For the best results, upload the highest-quality source file available. We will handle the transcoding required to prepare the creative for delivery across supported CTV inventory.
